For cat owners you will find the legislation for your particular council or shire plus tips on how to keep your cat protected under these laws. Under these new local laws cat owners have very little say - in fact none - in responding to shire rangers and advocates in regards to complaints made about their cats by neighbours. Nor do cat owners have any way of stopping the trapping of their cats under these laws even in their own street. There is no due process or procedural fairness to these laws, your cat can just disappear one day like mine did and be euthenized within 7 days if you can't locate it quickly enough - all thanks to one of your neighbours. Trapping cats and removing them from their own street and neighborhood under these new local laws is an emotional issue for the cat owner, their immediate family and for other pets in the household.
